In a surprising crossover event that defies usual forecasts, the game developer has unveiled an in-game crossover between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the acclaimed anime series Attack on Titan. The unexpected Thanksgiving event runs from November 25 through December 22, providing free additional story content for Shadows players.

Peculiar Mission Revealed

According to the authorized announcement, "An unusual meeting pulls heroes Naoe and Yasuke into a fresh quest, where rumors of forbidden ceremonies and monstrous metamorphoses echo through the darkness." The storyline features a "oddly garbed woman named Ada" who tasks the pair with traveling into the Crystalline Cavern—a significant location from Attack on Titan—to liberate her companion from a secret group.

The mission focuses on "strange tests and a fearsome adversary" and is open to all players who have unlocked the Yasuke character.

Iconic Settings and Metamorphoses

The preview highlights the Hidden Temple from Attack on Titan reimagined as the Crystal Cave. This historic location was earlier where the Reiss royal family passed down the Founding Titan ability through eras. The trailer ends with a striking sequence showing a character, probably the captive, morphing into a Titan that looms over Naoe and Yasuke.

Unique Items and Additional Features

Players who finish the mission will acquire an exclusive katana together with numerous objects concealed throughout the area in hidden chests. The update also includes premium Attack on Titan item packs, offering:

Newest Free Story Update

This patch also adds the game's latest free story episode, titled "The Enigma." This lighthearted quest teams Naoe and Yasuke as they trade characteristic techniques: Naoe introduces a dramatic variation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke learns non-fatal stealth takedowns. Faithful to its name, "The Enigma" also includes a fresh environmental puzzle that may eventually clarify some unanswered questions from the main storyline.
